More models or more focus? Two German AI visibility tools with different approaches.
Finseo and growResonance both track how AI assistants talk about your brand, and both are based in Germany. They differ in approach. Finseo gives you a wide choice of AI models plus enterprise features. growResonance focuses on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode, measures them daily through each model's user interface, and turns every measurement into concrete next steps. growResonance is also open source: self-host it with your own API keys or use the hosted version.

The short answer
- Open source: growResonance's source code is public on GitHub. Self-hosting is free; you only pay for your own API usage and servers.
- Choose Finseo if you need to track many different AI models, including regional ones, or have enterprise requirements such as SSO/SAML.
- Choose growResonance if your audience mainly uses ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode and you want tasks, content and client reports to follow directly from the data.
- Price at 150 prompts: Finseo Business costs €175 per month billed yearly (€210 monthly). growResonance Growth costs €60 on a 12-month term (€70 cancel-anytime).
- Both tools include unlimited seats, competitor and source analysis, an AI agent and white-label reports.
Why teams choose growResonance over Finseo
Tracking more models does not automatically produce more insight. What matters is whether you track the models your audience actually uses, and whether the data leads to action. That is what growResonance is built for, in five ways:
- Open source
- Focus on three models
- Measured the way customers ask
- Execution, not just tracking
- Built for agencies
1. Open source: inspect the code, self-host, stay independent
growResonance's source code is public on GitHub under AGPL-3.0. You can run the tool on your own infrastructure for free and only pay for your own API usage and servers. Your data stays with you, and you can verify exactly how measurements work by reading the code.
There is no lock-in: the code remains available even if you cancel the hosted version. If you would rather not run a server, use the hosted version with EU hosting in Frankfurt. The documentation describes which features are included when you self-host.
2. Focused on three high-reach models
Every growResonance plan tracks ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode daily. There is no need to decide which three models to switch on, because these three are always included. Claude, Perplexity and other models are coming soon.
Finseo takes the opposite route. Each plan lets you run three models at a time, chosen from a longer list that includes ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Claude, Perplexity, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek and Mistral. According to its pricing page, the Enterprise plan includes all 23 models, and regional models are sold as add-ons.
3. Measured the way your customers ask
growResonance asks its questions through each model's user interface, so results reflect what real users see in ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode. Every answer is stored with its position and cited sources. For ChatGPT, growResonance also shows the sub-queries (query fan-out) the model runs to build its answer.
4. From data straight to execution
Each measurement in growResonance produces prioritized tasks. The agent knows all the data in your workspace, proposes prompts, tasks, articles and page optimizations, and only creates something after you approve it. Once a task is done, growResonance shows how the affected prompts develop.
5. Built for agencies, priced to plan ahead
The Studio and Agency plans include several client workspaces, a shared prompt pool, an account-wide client overview and white-label reports without any growResonance branding. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is included by default, and all data is hosted in Frankfurt.

growResonance vs. Finseo: feature comparison
Tracking and AI models
growResonance tracks three fixed models every day: ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode. For every prompt you see whether your brand is mentioned, in which position and with which sources. Metrics include visibility, share of voice, average position, sentiment and competitive rank, over 7, 30 or 90 days.
According to its website, Finseo sends prompts to the major language models every day and extracts sources, products and rankings. Its strength is breadth. If you need to monitor Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral or regional models, Finseo covers them. On standard plans, three models run at the same time.
Competitors, sources and sentiment
Compare competitors and sources
In growResonance you compare your brand with competitors per prompt and per model. Source analysis shows which domains and pages AI models cite, grouped into trade press, user-generated content, reference sites, your own site and competitors. Sentiment is scored from 0 to 100 and backed by the exact sentences from the AI answers.
Finseo also offers competitor and citation analysis, with citation counts and share per source. Its website additionally lists bot traffic analysis and product and shopping visibility.
Execution: agent, tasks and content
growResonance turns measurements into prioritized tasks and later shows their effect on the affected prompts. The article assistant writes articles based on AI answers and the Google top 10, with a fact check and a content score for both Google and AI search. Existing pages can be improved with auto-optimization, and any article can become a social carousel.
Finseo's agent, the Finseo Agent, also handles tasks such as optimizing a brand for answer engines. Articles are included from the Business plan (15 per month) and the Growth plan (50 per month).
Technical checks
The growResonance technical audit checks whether AI bots may crawl your site (robots.txt), whether an llms.txt exists, where structured data is missing and how fast pages load. Every finding comes with a ready-to-use fix prompt.
Finseo includes crawlability checks from the Business plan, with 210 checks on Business and 700 on Growth.
Reports, integrations and data protection
growResonance builds reports as slides, PDFs or links, using your logo and colors, for clients, leadership or new-business pitches. Links can be password-protected and set to expire after 7, 30 or 90 days. Integrations include Google Search Console and an MCP connector for Claude and ChatGPT; Google Analytics 4 for visits from AI services is coming soon. Hosting is in Frankfurt.
Finseo offers a Report Builder with white-label reports, more than 200 integrations according to its website, an API, an MCP server, and connections to Google Search Console and Google Analytics.

Worked example: 150 prompts for one year
A brand wants to track 150 prompts daily across three models:
- Finseo Business: €175 × 12 = €2,100 billed yearly, or €210 × 12 = €2,520 billed monthly. Includes 13,500 answers per month and 15 articles.
- growResonance Growth: €60 × 12 = €720 on a 12-month term, or €70 × 12 = €840 cancel-anytime. Includes up to 13,950 answers per month and 5 GEO articles.
For a similar number of answers, growResonance costs €1,380 less per year in this example (both on annual terms). Finseo includes more articles and free choice of models.

Frequently asked questions
Is growResonance better than Finseo?
It depends on what you need to track and achieve. If you need many or regional models and enterprise features, Finseo is the better fit. growResonance fits when you want:
- fixed tracking of ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode through their user interfaces
- tasks, articles and a technical audit that follow directly from the data
- open source with free self-hosting
- a lower price per prompt
Why do teams choose growResonance over Finseo?
- The source code is open and self-hosting is free.
- At 150 prompts, growResonance costs €60 instead of €175 per month (both billed annually).
- Agencies get white-label reports, a client overview and a DPA in fixed plans.
- Hosting in Frankfurt and German-speaking support.
What are the differences between Finseo and growResonance?
- Models: Finseo lets you pick 3 from a long list; growResonance always tracks ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode.
- Measurement: growResonance measures through each model's user interface.
- Features: Finseo offers an API and SSO/SAML on Enterprise; growResonance offers a technical audit with fix prompts.
- License: growResonance is open source; Finseo mentions no open source offering.
Is growResonance open source?
Yes. growResonance's source code is public on GitHub under AGPL-3.0. You can read it, verify how measurements work and run the tool on your own servers. If you would rather not manage servers, the hosted version runs on EU infrastructure in Frankfurt, with no server setup on your side.
How much does self-hosting cost?
The software itself costs nothing when you self-host. You pay only for your own API keys with the AI and data providers, plus your server. How much that adds up to depends on how many prompts you track and how often. The documentation lists which features are included.
Which AI models do I actually need?
Track the models your customers really use. For many brands that means ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode, since Gemini and AI Mode are tied directly to Google Search. Check Google Analytics 4 to see which AI services send you visits before paying for additional models.
How does growResonance measure AI answers?
growResonance asks its questions daily through the user interfaces of ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode, the same way users see them. Each answer is stored with its position and sources. Failed queries are credited back to your quota, so you only pay for successful measurements.
Is growResonance a good fit for agencies?
Yes. The Studio plan (5 clients) and the Agency plan (10 clients) include a shared prompt pool, an overview of all clients, white-label reports without growResonance branding and a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR. Studio costs €90 per month on a 12-month term.
How do I switch from Finseo to growResonance?
Add your brand and competitors, bring over your existing prompts and connect Google Search Console. The first measurement starts right after setup. To compare results, you can run both tools side by side for a few weeks. growResonance says setup takes about 15 minutes.
growResonance helps teams get seen in AI answers
Finseo and growResonance solve the same problem with different priorities. Finseo offers a broader choice of models, an API and enterprise features. growResonance focuses on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode, measures through each model's user interface and turns every measurement into a concrete task, at a much lower price per prompt. And because it is open source, you can self-host it for free and inspect the code at any time.
